Getting started

Common questions

The scan is taking a long time

Scanning is real computation on your device, so the length of the film and the age of the phone both matter. Keep the app in the foreground while it runs, and start with a single drive if you just want to see what it does with your film.

Some players were missed, or the sides look wrong

Side splitting works from jersey color, so it struggles when both teams wear similar shades, when the film is very dark, or when the camera is far away and the players are only a few pixels tall. Better light and a tighter, steadier frame make a large difference. You can also correct assignments by hand from the Teams panel.

Overlays drift when the camera pans

The app compensates for camera motion, but fast pans with the play and hard broadcast cuts can still shake it loose. Freeze on a settled frame, or step a frame or two forward, and the overlays re-anchor.

My export has a watermark

Free exports are watermarked, and free users get one per day by watching a rewarded ad. Any Pro plan removes the watermark, the daily limit and the ads.

I bought Pro but the app still shows the paywall

Open the paywall and tap Restore purchases, and make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still does not unlock, email us with the date of purchase and we will sort it out.

Can I use it on iPad?

Yes. TakticalSnap runs on iPhone and iPad on iOS 16 or later, with a wider three-column layout on iPad for the chalkboard, spatial analytics and report screens.

Does anything get uploaded?

No. Analysis is entirely on-device and the app needs no account. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Reporting a problem

The most useful bug report includes: your device and iOS version, the app version (Settings screen, bottom), what you expected, what happened instead, and — if it is about a scan — how the film was shot. A short screen recording is worth a thousand words.
