How to set up a 7v7, 9v9 or 5v5 board in TacticalSnap
Video coming soonThe steps below are the full narration of this video.

In short

Grassroots football is not always eleven a side. Hold the Pre-Match button and pick a 9v9, 7v7 or 5v5 board: the pitch is sized for the format and both teams come with the right number of players. Open a team and scroll to the shapes — for seven a side the diamond, 2-3-1, 3-1-2 and every shape that adds up — or tap Custom… and type your own lines from the back, keeper not counted. Press Start and both sides stand on a seven a side pitch; from there it is the same board: draw the move, record it, export it for the parents' group. iPhone and iPad.

Step by step

  1. New 7v7 board

Grassroots football is not always eleven a side. Hold the Pre-Match button and pick a nine, seven or five a side board: the pitch is sized for the format, and both teams come with the right number of players.

On screen: Hold the Pre-Match button: a 9v9, 7v7 or 5v5 board, pitch sized to the format.

  2. Pick a shape

Open a team and scroll to the shapes. For seven a side you get the diamond, the two three one, the three one two, and every shape that adds up for that format. One tap and the players move.

On screen: Open a team: diamond, 2-3-1, 3-1-2 and the other shapes that fit the format.

  3. Custom shape

Your own shape? Tap Custom and type the lines from the back, the keeper is not counted. Three, two, one is a shape too, as long as it adds up to six outfield players.

On screen: Custom…: type your lines from the back, keeper not counted. 3-2-1 is a shape too.

  4. Start

Press Start and both sides stand on a seven a side pitch. From here it is the same board: draw the move, record it, and send it to the parents on WhatsApp.

On screen: Start: seven a side on a 7v7 pitch. Draw, record and export like any board.
